Christmas 2011

Whew. What a whirlwind.

(Am I the only one who feels like Christmas came and went way too fast?)

Here's a ridiculously long post, re-capping our first fun-filled Christmas as a family of three.

Friday, we visited Christmas at the Cove (a fun little light show at a local park). Of course, Miss Elena was dressed to impress... as Santa's cutest elf!
Jonathan's sister, Grace; Jonathan; Jonathan's brother, Thomas; and Jonathan's Mom, GiGi
On Christmas Eve, we celebrated at my dad's house with family, food and LOTS of presents for Baby Girl.

Christmas was hectic (to say the very least), but fun. We began the day at my mom's and stepdad's house for breakfast. Then, headed to my grandmother's house for food and gifts. Then, we had Christmas dinner with Jonathan's family. Yep, that's three stops for us. We are still tired from all the running around.
Same dress two days in a row?! How embarrassing!

After opening presents for what felt like hours. Can you find the baby?
Sleepy baby!
The day after Christmas (yep, the fun spills over for days in our family), we gathered with my mom's extended family for more celebrating.

And, finally, Elena enjoyed all the goodies Santa brought for her first Christmas. She is one lucky kid, who apparently has been very, very good in her seven months on earth. (Note: Santa didn't bring all this stuff... most of these gifts came from Santa's favorite elves - Elena's grandparents and extended family! Santa can't afford all those toys! Ha!)
Whoa. Great Christmas, for sure! I'm exhausted.

Goodnight, friends.

Merry, Bright and BLESSED!

Merry Christmas Eve Eve! Do you still have eleventy-million things to do today to prepare for your Christmas celebration? Or, are you spending the day snuggled up by the tree watching Christmas movies?

I don't have any last minute errands to run today (thank God!). But my house is a complete disaster, and I have tons of laundry I'd love to finish before tomorrow. The to-do lists never end! Trying my best not to stress about anything though.

The halls are decked at my house. I didn't put up as many decorations as I'd like (someday/somehow I want to have fully decorated trees and garland in every room of the house), but it's still quite festive around here. And, since it's Baby Girl's first Christmas, I've been a little camera-happy lately, capturing every single moment and milestone.

Here are some of this year's decorations...

Love my skinny pine! Had to buy a new tree this year to fit the new house.
Our old tree is nine feet tall, so it (sadly) stayed in storage this year.
I always choose one color for gift wrap (it just looks better).
This year, I went with sparkly gold, and I love it!
Baby's First Christmas ornament from my grandmother (ornament from Hallmark).
Photo ornament featuring my favorite picture from our Santa Baby photo shoot.
Crystal baby ornament we received from friends last year when I was pregnant.
Last year on Christmas Eve Eve we found out we were having a GIRL!
Silver spoon ornament from Elena's papaw.
Elena's pink and silver tree in her nursery.
Another view of the nursery tree.
(I know - I still haven't posted pictures of her room! Someday!)
Fun and festive at our house, huh?

I'm so, so excited for Elena's first Christmas. It's going to be special, for sure. I hope your holiday is merry, bright and blessed this year!
