Antigua Recap

I have been back in the wonderful United States of America for almost a week now, and I still haven't shared any details about our fabulous Antigua vacation. I know; total slacker.

Here's a very looong photo recap and the details of our trip. Enjoy!

We spent the first full day relaxing on the beach at our resort (St. James Club).

 Mr. Relaxation
Check out my hot one-piece!

On Sunday, we headed to Shirley Heights, an old military complex that overlooks English Harbor and Falmouth Harbor. Every Sunday, locals host the biggest barbecue on the island, complete with steel band and delish food. The view was absolutely incredible!

 Party people!

The next day we headed to St. John's to see the city. Someone was playing Dolly Parton Christmas music during our entire lunch. It was a little surreal.
Mom and Dwight hanging out in St. John's.
After seeing the city, we spent the afternoon at Darkwood Beach. It was gorgeous!
Husband and me at Darkwood Beach. Darkwood is on the Caribbean Sea (Antigua sits between the Atlantic and the Caribbean Sea). Both sides of the island are gorgeous.
 Closer shot
See the mountain shapes just past the waterline? It's Monsterrat, a nearby island with an active volcano. Pretty nifty.
After spending the afternoon at Darkwood Beach, we went down the street to Turner's Beach to watch the sunset and have dinner.
We met a new friend, Orlando (the coconut man I referenced in my previous Bump Watch post). He sold Jonathan a beachy drink. We're officially friends forever.
Jonny and Orlando enjoying a stiff beach drink.
 Like sippin' on sunshine.
Dinner at the little beach-side restaurant.
Excellent sunset view.

Sunset shot with the baby bump.
Just lovely.
The boys went deep sea fishing one morning. Jonathan came back with a big tuna!
 ...And a barracuda...
 ...with big teeth.
 The boys and their fish.
That's the tiny little fishing boat they took out into the Atlantic. Apparently, the water was pretty wild, nearly tipping the boat. Yikes!
Cutting up our lunch.
 Lunch on the beach.
Doesn't get much fresher than that.
Another beautiful day in Antigua - and another beautiful sunset!

Boat trip day!
Eric Clapton's Antigua getaway.
Gorgeous scenery...
 Snorkeling at Cades Reef
Looks like a swimming pool... but I promise it's the ocean!
 The view from our boat.
Amazing sailboats in Antigua for sailing week.
This is the one I want. I wonder what the owner of this beauty does for a living... Hm.
We spent our last day in paradise at Half Moon Bay.
Half Moon Bay was my favorite beach. It offered something for everyone; calm water, huge waves, rocky scenery, shade trees and snorkeling. It was breathtaking!

 Watching the waves crash.
 My handsome husband.
 Me and my baby bump.
 Loved this place!
Jonathan and me at Half Moon Bay.
 More crashing waves...
Yikes! (I am scared of big waves.)
What an amazing vacation!

There ya have it, friends; our winter getaway/babymoon vacation. It was so wonderful and relaxing... just what we needed before the hustle and bustle of the holiday season, to be followed by major nesting and preparation for Baby C. Probably our last vacation for quite a while - I'm glad we had the opportunity to see such an amazing place!

3 questions
1. Is your friend Orlando throwing up the "shocker" in that pic??
2. Will you please update us on your cup size in the next bump update?
3. Is that innapropriate?

Your pics are beautiful! I'm glad you had a relaxing vacay.
